Gospel Preludes for Organ featuring David Higgs

Concert Conversation with host Michael Barone and composer William Bolcom at 3 pm

Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church
511 Groveland Avenue, Minneapolis (directions)

Hallelujah! David Higgs, Chair of the Organ and Historical Keyboards Department and Professor of Organ at Eastman School of Music, performs a selection of Bolcom's Gospel Preludes. The audience will be invited to join in singing the gospel hymns, including favorites such as "What a Friend We Have In Jesus," "Jesus Loves Me," and "Blessed Assurance."

Co-sponsored by American Public Media's Pipedreams and Dr. Herbert Sloan, hosted by the Music at Hennepin Series. (A master class for organists with David Higgs will be held on Monday evening, April 23, 2007).
